yes it is! What this means is if you should break or lose the timing belt while the motors running it will cause major damage to your motor! also major expense to repair motor. just did a 2000 accent 1.5 repair caused by belt tensor lock bolt failure. Rite around 500.00 in repairs by diy. and pick-ur-part used parts. if I did it again I would install a 1.6 and forget worrying anymore!
