The 2009 Ford Escape does not come with a towing hitch standard, or as a factory option. A tow hitch can be retrofitted after purchase, however, the Operator's Manual lists a maximum towing weight of 1000 pounds. Flat-towing is possible, but likely not wise except for the lightest of vehicles. Even if the Escape can tow the other vehicle, the Escape's fuel efficiency will be very poor with the addition of that much weight.
