Nope. GM knew that this engine liked to demolish timing belts, so fortunately it's a non-interference engine. However, if the timing belt goes out at 130mph, i can't guarantee anything. By the way, nice choice. I have a 1995 lumina with the mighty 3.4 and its downright speedy. have fun
