Yes the Ford Ranger is available in basic model styles that are available cheaper than other models of Ford Trucks such as the F-150 models. The Ranger comes in styles that offer 2wd and 4wd models as well as regular and extended beds and different size cab models. Choosing among the different options that suit you allows you to find the model that's most affordable to you with the Ranger which is Ford's entry level Truck offering.
Ford currently lists 5 models in the truck category, however 2 of them are designed more as vans than as pickup trucks. The pickup truck versions are the Ranger, F-150 and Super Duty. The other 2 versions are the E-Series and Transit Connect. They also have 3 commercial pickup trucks (F-250, F-350 and F-450) .

The 1997 Ford Ranger model was available from as early as 1993. So all models between 1993 and 1997 will have interchangeable body panels.
Affordable is relative to the amount you want to spend, but they are in the same ball park as other American sold full size trucks. My personal preference as Ford, I've had great luck with the Focus I own and the Ranger that I had until it was totaled at 143,000 miles. Never had any issues and everyone thought it was much newer than it really was. I can't say the same for my 98 Blazer that is "nickel and diming" me at 140,000. That's my personal experience. Chevy also filled my dad's brand new '05 Silverado's transmission with dex cool from the factory, so I have a lot of bad experiences with Chevy.
Yes, BestBuy does have affordable GPS navigation. The insignia brand sells affordable models. The lowest ones sell for around $40-$60. Other brands will be much more expensive usually over $100.
There are many places where you can purchase a used, affordable truck for your business. You may be able to find used trucks in your local area, but if you don't have luck with that, there are auto sites online such as AutoTrader that have listings for used trucks. Also, you could try Craigslist or other classified sites.
That engine will also fit the Ford Ranger pickup.
The Ford Ranger Edge has a different body style. Other than that it's pretty much the same truck. Also, the Mazda B series is essentially the same as the Ford Ranger seeing that they are made in the same factory. Also.. The Edge has a torsion bar front end instead of coils . even on the 2wd models.
