Hi,

I own a MacBook Pro 15" unibody 2010. I don't know what you mean by the best, but I would recommend it highly. The MacBook Pro is a durable, powerful, and portable laptop. It is the perfect solution for someone who want to do video editing and such things on the go. If you only need the computer for web browsing, making YouTube videos etc. I would recommend either the MacBook or the MacBook Air. I would suggest that you buy a Mac instead of a Windows based computer. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

Sincerely,

Me

Opinion

For many it isn't, just because Apple's macbooks are so expensive while it isn't even that good. I'm not saying it is bad, but I believe we can all agree on it being very expensive, but it certainly not the best laptop.

Furthermore, contrary to popular belief, macs AREvulnerable to viruses. It just happens to be less than windows, but there are still many viruses out there for mac. Apple has also made its own virus scanner (that is barely updated).

My own opinion about mac is that it is not worth the money. The thing that could make you buy a mac is if you want a very user friendly computer. Most applications on the mac (that are made by apple) are very easy to understand. And I do not know any other positive point of the mac. You can pay one and a half thousand dollar and get a PC that has a video card and CPU from a few years ago. If you buy a custom built PC for 1.5k $, you can build an extremely powerful PC that will outperform the mac in any way possible.

Opinion

Definitely a matter of opinion. Apple's products are very high quality, and the operating system is more secure than Windows (what you'd most likely run on a Dell). They virtually never have problems with viruses, Trojan horses, or malware.

You can run the same software on an Intel-based Mac as you can on a Dell -- including Windows, if you really want to (just don't surf the internet or download email under Windows).

If a Mac becomes unstable, you can usually run inexpensive utility software and solve the problem yourself, no tech support needed. In fact, most Macs run for years without needing to see a doctor (no "apple a day" jokes, please), and become obsolete long before it's ready to retire.

Yes, Macs are more expensive upfront, which is a valid purchase consideration, but the Mac has many points in its favor.

Apple has a variety of Apple Laptops that come in a variety of price ranges and they appear to be a good purchase for the money. The best thing to do is to look at them and compare with other brands and their features at the same price point.

The Macbook Air is a great laptop for people who enjoy browsing the web, watching videos, syncing with their iPod, listening to music, using word/pages, powepoint/keynote, excel/numbers... etc

However you may find the processing power a little insufficient for editing movies and more power-hungry tasks.

It is extremely thin and light, and has a great battery life. It is made from aluminum. It has a glass trackpad, for multi-touch gestures. It has large keys which are well spaced. It has an LED backlit display. It has a backlit keyboard for typing in the dark.
