The 99 Breeze 2.4 L dohc engine is non-interference. I just went through a broken timing belt on my daughters car. The Plymouth Breeze with the X in the V.I.N. are free wheeling design. The pistons in this engine have cut-outs on their domes to allow clearance with belt failure. Some 2.4's are interference, on other Chrysler engines. Here is a good website to get information on timing belts and interference and non-interference engine applications for a variety of vehicles. http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=2256&location_id=3487&go=SearchGatesPopular
No, the 3.0 L is not interference.
Yes , both the 2.4 L - 4 cylinder and the 3.0 L - V6 engines are interference engines according to Gates ( they manufacture timing belts etc. )
No ( according to Gates , they manufacture timing belts etc . ) Neither the 1.8 L or 1.9 L 4 cylinder engines are interference engines in a 1991 Mercury Tracer
According to Gates ( they make timing belts etc. ) the 3.0 L - V6 in a 1994 Plymouth Voyager is NOT an interference engine
According to Gates ( they manufacture timing belts etc. ) The 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe - 2.4 L - 4 cylinder / 2.7 L and 3.5 L - V6 engines all take timing BELTS and are all interference engines
Most do not, but some do. If you had listed what engine you are asking about I could give a definite answer. Some 1.5L, 1.6L, and 1.8L Diesels are interference. Also some 3.4 L V6 are interference.
According to Gates ( they manufacture timing belts etc. ) Both the 1.8 L - 4 cylinder and the 2.8 L - V6 engines have timing belts and are interference engines
According to Gates ( they make timing belts etc. ) the 1.8 L and 1.9 L engines in a 1992 Ford Escort are NOT interference engines , so apparently no
Engine will stop running. Also on the 3.0 Liter V6 there will be no internal damage, but on the 3.4 L V6 and the 4.7 L V8 there will be engine damage as these 2 engines are interference engines.
Timing belt ( for both the 2.6 L - 4 cylinder and the 3.2 L - V6 engines in a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo , also both are interference engines ) according to Gates , they make timing belts etc.
The 2.0 L - SOHC - IS AN INTERFERENCE ENGINE The 2.0 L - DOHC - IS NOT an interference engine
You fail to list the year and model Toyota. Some Toyota 3.0 L V6 engines are interference and some are not. Depends on the year and engine. Not all 3.0 V6 engines are the same.
