A myth is defined as a religious story with no verified evidence*. Given that, Adam & Eve certainly fits into this definition. However, unlike the Greco-Roman myths, a large number of people still believe in the historicity of Adam & Eve regardless of the lack of evidence. This makes it difficult for many people to place the Adam & Eve story in the category of "myth", even though it belongs there.
* Definition of "Myth": a traditional or legendary story, usually concerning some being or hero or event, with or without a determinable basis of fact or a natural explanation, especially one that is concerned with deities or demigods and explains some practice, rite, or phenomenon of nature.
If you believe the story of Adam and Eve to be a myth then it has no relevance at all. But if you believe the story to be true then it has great relevance. Because the story tells how man's relationship with God, the creator and sustainer of life, was broken when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Also everybody born since Adam and Eve is born without a relationship with God.

As the Church began to accept the truth of evolution, so its understanding of Adam and Eve has changed and will continue to change. Cardianl George Pell, in a televised debate, said that the story of Adam and Eve is a myth - a religious story told for religious purposes.
A:Scientifically, no. Modern humans evolved over a long period, over two hundred thousand years ago. There never was an Adam or Eve, and there was no one first human couple on earth.

We can not identify landforms or climate at a mythical time. However, if we wish to assume that Adam and Eve lived from around 4000 BCE, which is according to the biblical chronology, this is too recent for any significant change to have occurred in the landscape of Israel.
