The capital of Alaska (Juneau) is east of the capital of Hawaii (Honolulu), and much farther north.

Although the Aleutian Islands of Alaska extend farther west than the Hawaiian Islands, Juneau is on the extreme southeast coast of Alaska, close to the border of British Columbia and the Yukon Teritory. Its longitude is about 134°W while Honolulu's is out at 157°W.

Juneau, Alaska is east of Honolulu. Hawaii is in the Eastern Hemisphere. The Aleutian Islands are part of Alaska. The 180th meridian (the International Date Line) crosses the Aleutian Islands. Juneau, Alaska is on the opposite side of the 180° longitude line and is in the Western Hemisphere. Departing Honolulu you would travel east to the International Date Line and would continue traveling east after you crossed over the International Date Line until you reached Juneau.
