No, Chinese Shar Peis also have black tongues. Dogs of other breeds may have black spots, as well, but only the Chow and Shar Pei is known for its solid black/blue tongue.

There is no correct answer for this one. You could say somewhere between the lab and chow, but I've seen many mixes that looked like pure bread animals. Yes. Keeshonds are in one of my books, they look kind-of like chow-shaped huskies and are very fluffy and apparantly very good family dogs.

I have had a litter from pure bread chow chow(60 lbs, black) mixed with American Pit (70 lbs) result, medium coat mostly black 75-90 lbs monsters. 6 in litter all large boned big scull, well mannered. Basically depends on parents genetics.
