Absolutely. Unfortunately, you may be hearing people who think he is a Muslim (he isn't, nor was he ever raised in that religion-- his father was born into Islam but left the faith and became an atheist long before Barack was born); or you may be hearing evangelical Christians who think he isn't a "real" Christian because he doesn't share their conservative views. Barack Obama was raised mainly by his maternal grandparents, who were Protestant Christians (many sources say Methodists, several say Unitarians). There is no credible evidence that he is anything other than a Christian, although it should be noted he comes from a very multicultural extended family which includes relatives who are Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, and even Jewish.
