The side of the moon that we never see is more heavily cratered than the side we
always see. One possible way to understand that is to realize that anything heading
for impact on the side of the moon that we see has to get past the Earth first in
order to hit the moon. So in a sense, the side we see is 'shielded' from many of the
objects that would otherwise hit it.
By the way . . . there's no "dark side" of the moon. No matter where you stand on
the moon, you'd see the sun rise, stay up for two weeks while it slowly crosses the
sky, then set and stay down for the next two weeks.
This is an uneducated way of referring to the far side of the moon. But the far side isn't always dark.
The side that faces away from the flashlight or the sun is always the dark side.
Astronomically speaking, since the moon rotates similarly to the Earth, one side of the moon is always hidden from everyone terrestrially.
Nothing. There is no life on the moon, dark side or light side.
The far side of the moon is always opposite of the visible side. When the moon is new, it is between the Sun and the earth. Since we see the dark side of the moon, the opposite side must be fully lit by the sun. Likewise when we see a gibbous moon, the far side would be a crescent. When we see a full moon, the far side is in complete darkness.
There isn't always a dark side of the moon. The moon has day and night on all sides. There is, however, always a far side that we never see.
The "near" side of the moon is the side that always faces Earth. The "far" side of the moon can only be seen from space. The dark side of the moon is the title of a Pink Floyd album. There is no side of the moon that is always dark.

We on earth always see the same face of the moon, but the "dark side" of the moon is not always dark. For example, in a lunar eclipse, the back side of the moon is receiving all of the sunlight, while the side facing us receives none.

Yes ya you just see different portions and shadows of the moon. That's why there is the expression 'dark side of the moon' because it is always the same side that they are talking about (the side that always faces the sun)

you see the dark side of the moon when you see half the moon. because there is always a full moon but you only see some of it exept when there is a full moon
Actually no. Because we cannot see the back side of the moon. But it is not always in dark. Sun can shine on it too
its a fact. There is a side to the moon that we have never seen because it's always dark, hence the name.
As the dark side of the moon is always facing away from the earth and it couldbe vey hostile and 500degree .
