Anemia is due to an iron deficiency which may lead to a decreased red cell count, a more serious condition is leukositic anemia which may become Leukemia, and is marked by a low red count, as well as an extremely high white count. There are 400 kinds of anemia, divided into 3 main groups. Blood loss (internal bleeding [ulcers etc.]), Menstruation, and childbirth. Defective, or deficient red blood cells, or vitamin, iron or other deficiencies.

Iron Deficiency Symptoms: Importance of Red Blood Cells and Oxygen?

Iron plays a vital role in the proper functioning of the red blood cells. An iron deficiency can lead to a condition known as anemia, which occurs when the red blood cell count is significantly below normal levels. The symptoms of anemia include fatigue as a result of insufficient oxygen flowing in the blood vessels. An iron deficiency can also lead to a weakening of the immune system, increasing the vulnerability to common illnesses and infections.

What type of anemia is a condition characterized by an inadequate number of circulating red blood cells is known as what anemia?

Hemolytic anemia

What leads to normal hematocrit levels in anemia?

Iron deficiency anemia. The normal hematocrit (ratio of packed red blood cells to total blood volume) rules out anemia due to loss of blood cells through hemorrhage or sickling. Below-normal hemoglabin indicates an iron deficiency in this case. No available iron = no hemoglobin produced.

What is founded in liver and is needed to prevent anemia or tired blood?

Lack of Iron can cause a deficiency known as anaemia.

What is a blood disorder also known as cooley's anemia?

Thalassemis is a blood disorder also known as cooley's anemia. It is also known as Mediterranean anemia.

What mineral supplement is often prescribed to treat red blood cell deficiencies?

Folic acid helps the body form red blood cells and aids in the formation of genetic material within every body cell. Vitamin B12 helps form red blood cells and build genetic material. It also helps the nervous system to function properly. Iron functions primarily as a carrier of oxygen in the body, both as a part of hemoglobin in the red blood cells and myoglobin in the muscles. A low iron supply is commonly referred to as anemia, a condition in which the size and number of red blood cells are reduced. Iron deficiency anemiamay result from inadequate intake of iron or from blood loss. Answer: Iron

What does it mean if your mcv and mch are low?

On a hematology lab report, MCV usually is meant to indicate the mean cellular volume of red blood cells. Normal values for MCV are between 80-100 fL for most adults. A low MCV could indicate many different things. The most common or prevalent being anemia. There are many different kinds of anemia, and there is no way to diagnose anemia without other laboratory testing. It could be iron deficiency anemia or it could be a range of genetic variations in hemoglobin composition, known collectively as thalassemias.
