Sometimes jewelry manufacturers will stamp the inside of rings with numbers indicating the weight of a main diamond, especially a solitaire, for identification purposes. I have seen it done. Probably not a common practice though. If you have specific numbers stamped inside of a ring, list them here for possible interpretation.
If there is an 8 digit number followed by another set of numbers, you are probably looking at the GIA number, which is usually followed by a 2nd set of numbers which is the carat size of the diamond associated with that number. For example 12345678 1.25 would mean you have a GIA certified diamond (Gemological Institute of America) weighing 1.25 carats. At least that is how my diamond is marked on the inside of my ring.
NB: Since it is so easy to separate a diamond stone from the metal in which it is mounted, you can only trust the GIA certificate for a diamond stone as the true indicator of its value. Trusting the markings on the jewelry's metal to indicate the size/ quality of its diamond is naive.

17 stamp on ring what is this
From what I understand some jewelers stamped in the ring size!
it possible could mean size
the numbers 6,7,8,9or10 would just be the ring size sometimes they put the size in the inside of the ring but if it has any other # or letters in it it could be real.
It means that the ring is made from 9k gold 9 does not mean a ring is 9k unless there 1s a "k" involved I have never seen a ring that was designated 9k/ Usually you will see 10,12.14,18 or 24k unless the ring was custom crafted at 9k. It is more than likely 9 is the ring size. Hope this is helpful!
i have a sterling silver ring with 925 and 9NVC stamped inside what does that mean It means Nickel Vanadium Chrome and the #9 is the ring size.

I have NV and 8 stamped inside my 3 joined rings and they're bronze, silver and gold in colour, someone told me it stand for either Nevada Silver or the ring size for countries such as Australia.
From what I understand some jewelers stamped in the ring size!
Korea = Country of Origin or what country the ring is from. 8 = Ring Size
It's a ring with a 1.5 carat diamond, the numbers indicate size. 1ct is already a very large diamond for a ring.
It should be Sterling Electroplated and 14 should be ring size.
Ring size 6 that's what RJ 6 means.
Size of ring?
The 25 inside your ring could be 2.5 gms or .25 (dot may be not visible) or 2.5. If the ring is made in Japan, 25 is ring size number. It may also mean that your diamond is 1/4 carat. http://www.diamonds-are-forever.org.uk/carat-weight.htm
it possible could mean size
not much. ge stands for "gold electroplate" which means the ring is plated and not solid gold.
