As Austrian I can tell you that it is definitely for the Schnitzel.
Austrian goulash, Tafelspitz (beef boiled in broth), Wiener Schnitzel, Apple strudel,Leberkäse, Frankfurter,Knödel (potato dumplings), Spätzle and Nockerl (noodles), Brettljause (cold cuts), and Palatschinken (crepes with apricot jam) are some great foods to try in Austria.
