JUDICIARY VERSUS ADMINISTRATION: ARE WE AN UPRIGHT NATION?

Our country had been in quest for a kind of government which is proper, just, and peaceful; a government which delivers answers to arisen problems and most especially, one which creates harmony* so that people could easily adapt themselves to it and make it a framework of the lives they are building by themselves.

"The people are very observant of what happens in the government, therefore, the government should very well be a role model of every positive aspect of life."

But as per the Philippines' state, the quest for an ideal government is far from over.

For weeks, turbulent atmosphere had been dominating the government grounds-the judiciary and the administration are of a serious commotion.

The Aquino administration accused Chief Justice Renato Corona of corruption, betrayal of public trust, inhibition in the case concerning PAL and cases against CGMA and many other misleading acts wounding the Philippine justice system.

Now, eventually, the senate hearing is currently rolling to seek the "answer" for this "political problem of the year", and the House of the Senate starts to fire up because of the exchange of one-hundred-centigrade-hot words from the piercing mouths of the defense and the prosecution.

The prosecutors (with much defending) said that this impeachment trial is just any other cases filed aiming to justify whoever is accountable of such accusations. With that, they imply Chief Justice Corona should be responsible for the allegations stoned to him. CJ Corona is being sautéed due to his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN)-that there is relative inconsistency behind the SALN and that it is largely diverse from the actual wealth and properties Corona owns (dubbed as ill-gotten wealth) had made the weather burning in the senate as if it's in Sahara desert.

On the other hand, the defense team argues that there is still a hidden reason why the administration strives for Corona's "immediate" impeachment. According to them, President Aquino is taking the case too personal because CJ Corona is a known ally of the Arroyos who were, thru CGMA, in mess with P-Noy and his clan.

Now, we can clearly see how our government is behaving. Perhaps, it will be reasonable saying that we don't have the right to intrude on legal proceedings as this because we may not have the knowledge to do so. But certainly, we are aware that there is a formation of two feuding factions in our government and it is also equally reasonable that as Filipino people, we should speak out for it is our nation's image which is at stake.

The judiciary is the law- applying branch and the administration has the sole authority to rule the state; they are now in feud and boom!the nation is out of path.

As what one of the legal experts said on t.v., this happening makes a laceration on our country's reputation and a shade of gray to the wholesome image we are continually caressing.

Conclusively, it is now a question to our should-be-synchronized government. And I pray whoever has the accountability for this political be sentenced and our nation be the upright nation we have been dreaming of.
