If you're at all an avid surfer of the internet, you've probably encountered various ads (especially on sites that gain most of their revenue from advertising!) making the claim that an individual or group has found a "quick-fix" solution for a process that either takes a long time, costs a lot of money, or both. The common layout for these ads is "X professional group hates him because...!" or "X professional group/institution hates group Y because...!". The idea being to get you to click on the ad and most likely sending you to a site that infects your computer with some type of virus/malware/cookies/trojan horse/spyware/adware/etc. In short, that ad is most likely detrimental to the health of your computer so I do not recommend clicking on it.
IF you are on a network, this might be possible - as the administrators may have that access blocked. The other thing that could cause this is a serious bug or virus on your machine. Run a complete virus scan and a scanning operation software like Ad-Aware to find the problems.
"Ad hoc" refers to anything temporary or made for a specific purpose. So an ad hoc system may be used for an unencountered problem, or an ad hoc committee to settle certain issues (took me three minutes to write this).
If you have an ad on a web page, the ad counts the amount of people that go on the website and pay so much per person.
An advertising network is a company who connects advertisers to websites that want to be hosts for their advertisements. They must find ad space and fill it.

An ad hoc professor is one that is hired on an as-needed or as-required basis. Generally, ad hoc professors do not receive the same benefits as regular professors, so this saves the university or college money.
Yes, "Ad nauseum" comes from the Latin language.
Sometimes a pop-up or an ad can have a virus in it but you would only get the virus if you click the ad. Sometimes people post an array of numbers and letters to you via personal message and it can contain a virus if you click it or even open the message.

There could be many reasons. The computer could have a malfunction and accidentally create a virus. Or, a person could create a virus and send it to you through an e-mail, an ad on the internet, etc.
Go on some naughty websites and download/click every ad there.
The name would suggest that it is a virus!!
