No, they are very much alive and well today. There are 3 Mohawk reservations in Ontario and 4 in Quebec, with many more Mohawks living away from the reservations. In the USA there are Mohawk communities in New York State and in the city of New York, where many Mohawks were employed as construction workers.
With over 15,000 Mohawks in the USA alone, they are very far from extinct.
They are STILL the same because they now live modern lives.
