Superior and inferior are terms to tell where a part of the body is in relation to another part. to simplify it thing of it this way. Superior is above, inferior is below.

So the umbilicus is inferior to the pectoralis major is like saying the unblicus is below the pectoralic major. The same goes for superior. Since almost ever part of the body has something above and below it, generally every body part can be either inferior or superior.
