Just recently bought Primsleur CDs although I was skeptical ... after just trying the first CD, I can say Indeed IT IS Effective! ... Even though without pen and paper (I am fanatic about having to write everything down when learning something new), I was able to follow and RETAIN what I learnt ... Still to go through the full program and see if I will retain it few months from now ... but the current results are great.
I don't think it will make you fluent speaker in all aspects of life ... but if you want to be to converse with native speakers, find your way around ... it will certainly does that.
