No. There are lots of states that have bigger cities then their capitol. NYC is bigger than Albany; LA is bigger than Sacramento; Bridgeport is bigger than Hartford; Charlotte is bigger than Raleigh; etc,etc.

No. In fact, most states' largest cities aren't their capitals. Only 16 states have their capitals as their largest city.

The state capital city is not always the largest in state. New York State's largest city is New York City and its capital city is Albany, the 6th largest city in the state. California's largest city is Los Angeles and its capital city is Sacramento, the 6th largest city in the state. Texas' largest city is Houston and its capital city is Austin, the 4th largest city in the state.
