Yes they believe, as the Prophets foretold about the birth and death of Jesus(Romans 1:1-6), and much more. Isaiah said it (Matthew 4:13-16/Isaiah 9:2)(Matthew 8:16-17/Isaiah 53:4), and family tree of Jesus is from Adam to Joseph(Matthew 1:1-16/Luke 3:23-38).

Also, without the information in the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures), the New Testament (Christian Greek Scriptures) would make no sense. That's why at Romans 15:4, Paul says: "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope."(NIV)(1 Corinthians 10:11)(2 Timothy 3:14-17)(Matthew 21:42)(Mark 14:49)(John 5:39)(Romans 1:2)

"Christ" is Greek, or rather, it is the English version of the Greek word "christos" which means "the anointed one." The Hebrew Bible (Christians call it the Old Testament) is in Hebrew (and a few later books have Aramaic). There are very few Greek loan words in Biblical Hebrew. So, what you need to do is look at the Hebrew word that was translated as Christ in Greek. The answer is, as I understand it, "moshiach," which means the anointed one. Look more closely and you will find that the ceremony to anoint a high priest is given in detail in Exodus and Leviticus. Every single High Priest was anointed and therefore, technically, a messiah. Then, when you get to the days of the kings in Jerusalem, you find that every single king from Saul onward was anointed and therefore, technically, a messiah. Furthermore, there are many prophecies and psalms that refer to the kings as anointed ones. Some of these refer to future anointed ones, possibly mere kings or high priests, possibly something more transcendental, but the vast majority of such references are to the current king or high priest to whom the prophet was speaking -- usually remonstrating for some shortcoming.

What is the Old Testament saying about Christ being God?

In the Old Testament, there are prophecies that point to the coming of a divine Messiah who would be God in human form. For example, in Isaiah 9:6 it says, "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." This verse suggests that the Messiah would be seen as God himself.
