There is not many differences except for the fact that the xbox elite is black and it has a HDMI cable (High definition display) but you can do the same things with both (Xbox Live, Sky player, Facebook etc.)

the one with 1024mb of memory is better because it allows more information to be stroed on the card instead on on the RAM which allows for faster speeds. This is only really noticeable on larger screens (about 30in and up) but it is still better to have more memory
