Is their Proof that the Bible is true?

When most people are asked "Is The Bible true?" they tend to answer, "Because it says here in the Bible that...." But to ask if the Bible is true means to prove that it is.

The Bible is true because of how everything that has happened in it HAS happened on earth and there is evidence of it. There would be no possible way for the authors of the Bible to know such things before they happend. We cant even do that today!

This is how we know that it is true. There is proof. A little research will do that. For example, scientists have believed to have found Noah's Arc. Also, Christians also believe in the Bible mainly based on their belief that the Bible is the real word of God.

Yes their is proof. Their is a God that exists, God told people to write the bible and the stuff is true. The proof that God exists is well, you are here right now aren't you.

Religion is 100% faith. Nothing factual about. There is no proof of any of this. The bible was written by man. Science has proven we came from bacteria 65000 years ago and according to scholars, thee bible says 6000 years ago.

Also the bible was made 40 yrs after Jesus so maybe some of the stuff in the bible like man cant lay with another man. God wouldn't say that because he made everyone different and gave each person something special. Also God loves everyone he doesn't hate exclude one type of person. So the bible is right and wrong because man made it and people who hate a type of people will do anything to make others to have to hate those type of people also.

No. the Bible is a collection of books written in different times and different ways. It is not something that can be 'proved'. In my opinion, the types of judgement one applies to it are not within the purview of science. This does not lessen its value, and it is quite possible to accept the messages of the Bible and still be a scientist. You don't make it clear what you mean by scientific support for the Bible. Do you mean 'Can we prove it's true?' If so, then it depends what you mean by true. Some people believe every word is literally true, but some parts of it are at odds with what scientists accept. Genesis, for example, is not what most scientists believe about the formation of the Earth. It was written a long time ago by a very primitive people. The gospels, on the other hand are much more recent, and there is good historical evidence supporting a lot of them. None of this has anything to do with religious judgments of truth, which are up to the individual.

You will find all sorts of supposed 'proof', for instance through numerology, but that has no basis in science.

Consider the Number 137 which is well-known throughout the physics community as the approximate inverse of the Fine Structure constant. It is based on faith, but faith is defined at Hewbrews 11:1:

"Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld."

Notice that it says "evident". This shows that faith has to be based on real evidence. So, yes, there is proof that the Bible is true and the word of God.

The Bible was not written to be a work of science but rather to be an 'instructional manual' for mankind - the nature of humankind, the nature of God, the unseen spiritual world, and how each of us can have an eternal relationship as sons and daughters in the God Family. However, with that being said, there are numerous 'scientific facts' noted within the pages of Scripture. Simply consider how the Bible tells us that the universe and time had a beginning being created from the invisible. It hasn't been so long ago that scientists believed quite the opposite - that time was eternal and something miniscule began the chain of events creating the physical elements, etc.

The problems with previous teachings on the pages of the Bible can be directly attributed to many misinterpretations of the writings within. This spurred on the 'Age of Enlightenment' in the late 17th through 19th centuries, where newly found scientific data disproved many of previously held beliefs (geocentrism vs heliocentrism as an example). Unfortunately, this has created a 'wall' between the Bible and Science when in my opinion there shouldn't be one - scientists should use the Bible as a tool/guide in their endeavors. If only we would allow the Bible to interpret itself...

As new discoveries continue, particularly in DNA, Archaeology, and Space Exploration, more and more evidence will present itself in agreement with the words of Scripture. Perhaps more scientists will agree with Sir Isaac newton's famous scientific work, Principia, which states, "The most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion on an intelligent and powerful Being."
