Cordless tire inflater pumps are usually made for smaller, bicycle type tires or spare tires. Most of the time, these do not have enough pressure for larger, truck type tires. Best to use a compressor for these tires to ensure you are getting the appropriate inflation.
The compressor automatically turns on and raises the pressure as rear axle load increases. The switch found in the rear compartment is for using the compressor for filling tires after attaching the supplied hose.
Heat is built up while driving and that will increase pressure in the tires.
A craftsman air compressor is beneficial to people supplying clean high pressure air. It can be used to fill gas cylinders, supply air to divers, fill tires and power pneumatic tools.
The purpose of an air compressor is to air up tires. This can be bike tires but also car tires. Because it is a small model, it takes some time to fill a car tire, but it works.
An air compressor
Even though all four tires have the correct tire pressure, the light will stay on if the pressure in the spare tire is incorrect. This is because of a sensor in the tires.
When you drive, your tires get warmer, causing the air pressure within them to increase. Your tires can get warm after just 1 mile of driving. you should always check your tire inflation pressure when your tires are cold, and inflate them to the recommended pressure at that time.
Low pressure.
First you determine the correct pressure for the tire. (usually around 35psi) Most gas station air hoses have gauges built onto them. If not, you will need a pressure gauge. Remove the valve stem cap from the valve stem, sticking out of the rim. Check the pressure with a gauge. if it is low, push the end of the air hose into the valve stem of the tire. (This may require inserting quarters into the air machine) Air will move from the compressor into your tire. Check the pressure frequently to be sure you do not over inflate the tire.
For most 14 inch tires on the Aerostar the average pressure is 35 pounds.
