Short answer is "Depends".
To try and make the answer a little less unhelpful, let me explain what I mean. There are thousands of different types of electrical plus and connectors, some for main, some industrial, some for signal wires, some for power transmission.
Some of these - eg: a phono plug - do indeed come in a double female and double male variety and are ideal for hooking things up with and joining cables.
When it comes to mains power, then double males are almost unheard of as they are otherwise known as "Widow Makers" - you do however find people make a male-male lead to allow a generator for example to easily plug into their home. Providing they remember to isolate the mains and never touch the otherplug - it can work fine. If however someone comes along and unplugs the lead and touches the plug, they will find it live. Hence "Widow maker".
So, if you can explain what sort / type of plug you mean - eg: car type, main types, single pole, 3 core etc, then it will be easier for someone to give you a more specific answer.

Mark
Plugs are just connectors they don't generate
There aren't any electrical connectors near the spark plugs on the 5.9L V8
Two, male and female. Connectors with prongs are called male gender and those with holes female gender plugs. When you push them together they slot into each other allowing signals or current to flow. There are even connectors which have both prongs and holes and these are called bi-gender connectors. Being an inncoent young man I cannot for the life of me understand how the names came about.
Only if you buy them that way.
