I don't know if this will answer your question but I did have a buddy, whos dad took the top headlights out of an older gmc pickup truck, they had like rectangle headlights and the plastic housing too. he did that so he could get the BLU color headlights in. I don't know how he got them to fit and im not aware of the modifications to do so but that's all I know and I hope it helps you.
