How do you reset your air bag light?
Depend on year and make, but most of vehicle check airbag system (SRS) everytime you turn ignition on.
it means, if you trick and clear airbag warning (not fixed), next time you turn ignition on, it comes back on.
When you fix problem, next time you turn ignition on, it will be clear.
It's not like "Check engine" light.
It's more like "Charging system" or "Oil pressure" warning.
You fix it, it clear.
The brake warning light on a 2005 BMW 325i can be reset by connecting an OBD II code reader. It can view and clear error codes detected by the computer.
Unfortunately a 1986 BMW 325 does not have a service light reset button. To reset the light a user can ground pin 7 in the diagnostic connector. Doing so automatically sends a signal to the cars ECU to reset all error codes and service lights.
1. read out the error codes 2. (sometimes, either restart the engine OR disconnect the battery.
That requires an ENGINE SCANNER to do that. But you will first need to fix what is wrong are the light will come back on. Have engine scanned.
disconnect battery for 10 minutes then reconnect battery this will cancel error codes in computer
It will be to the left of the thermostat housing, in the intake.
I sent my original module to a company i found on google - www.myairbags.com They reset it for $55 and shipped back to me for free!
You need a scan tool to reset codes after repair.
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem and reset codes

First the light has to be connected to a tester to erase the fault codes. Then it should be programmed to get the new codes and it works.
Sorry, the question should read "after replacing the gas cap" Added: It may not be the gas cap that is causing the fault. You could check for other error codes. If your sure it was an error caused by a loose or faulty gas cap you may have to take your jeep in and have the error code cleared/reset, and they could check for other error codes at the same time. Added: I recently "reset" my check engine light by disconnecting the battery for about a half hour. Took a terminal connection off and went and watched a (tv) sitcom. The light was off when I reconnected and drove off.
