Mineral oil or liquid petrolatum is a by-product in the distillation of petroleum to produce gasoline. It is a transparent, colorless oil composed mainly of alkanes (typically 15 to 40 carbons) and cyclic paraffins, related to white petrolatum. Mineral oil is a substance of relatively low value, and it is produced in very large quantities. Mineral oil is available in light and heavy grades, and can often be found in drug stores.
Vegetable fats and oils are substances derived from plants that are composed of triglycerides. Nominally, oils are liquid at room temperature, and fats are solid; a dense brittle fat is called a wax. Although many different parts of plants may yield oil, in actual commercial practices oil is extracted primarily from the seeds of oilseed plants.
Mineral oil is a petroleum product, and vegetable oil is an agricultural product.

this guy told me to use cooking oil on my bike chain...
u know what happen? in the winter time my chain got sticky and the chain rusted, also my gears fell apart due to the oil eroding it or something...)
it better just to buy the oil because ur gonna have to pay the price later
