You need to check to see if your 4wd hi/ 4wd lo lights actually light up when you start your car. Both lights should turn on for a brief moment after startup. If both lights work then you might need to check your switch and/ or actuator(s). If the lights don't turn on breifly then you might want to check the other lights on the dash to see if they turn on. If they don't turn on, you might want to check the fuses on the side of the dashboard, forgot which fuses but the legend should be in your owner's manual. If all of the other lights turn on then the next thing to think about is replacng your 4wd control module. Its located behind the passenger kick panel and his held by two 7mm screws. Its very easy to remove and replace and there are two snap in connecters that insert on the side. This is a very common issue with the sport trac and many people have found themselves replacing this part after minor electrical maintenance and/ or upgrades. good luck
