Pay particular attention to the first word: lichen! A lichen is a fungus/algae combination. (The algae make sugar to feed the fungus!!!) I have lichen sclerosis myself and just started on an anti-fungal diet. Check out Doug Kaufman's www.knowthecause.com. It's unbelievable what fungi can do to the human body. All your doctor will do is give you cortisone cream which encourages yeast growth and DOES NOT cure the lichen sclerosis!!! My doctor has agreed to let me experiment with this diet. If I see improvement, I will ask her for anti-fungal prescriptions plus there are natural anti-fungals that you can buy at the health store such as malic acid (apple cider vinegar also) or olive leaf extract. I'm giving it a try because I'm tired of being in pain. www.knowthecause.com also talks about Allergies in one of his books. You'll be amazed at all the diseases caused by those little fungi!
