see related link i have a 94 s10 blazer and if you use your key with the back hatch handle you can open it
how to open the rear window on a 1997 chevy blazer.
I have a 96 Chevy Blazer S-10 and the latch to open the window in the back hatch will not work. How do I replace the motor?? or whatever to repair?
The "wing" that is over the rear hatch is to help keep the rear window clean.
It depends on where its broke at. Is the cable broken at the mechanical part or is it broken before that?
The blazer must be in park for the rear hatch button to work. If you have the blazer in drive the button will not open the hatch unless it is in park!!! If there is still a problem maybe try checking the fuses! The actuator could be broken in the rear that releases the window so you can open the back. This happened to my 2003 Blazer and my neighbor's 2002 Blazer. By removing the back panel (high likelyhood the panel will break when you remove it) and replacing the actuator that could solve your problem. Both I and my neighbor would have had to order the whole actuator in order to replace the tiny plastic piece that broke. Instead we drilled a whole and rigged it with some tough wire. Works now but we both have broken back panels...even the dealership broke one. Good luck. SEE RELATED LINK for 1997 Blazer
use the handle....
Press the button on the rear hatch that has the key hole in it. This will release the window catch and it should open when you try and lift the window.
I don't know how to fix the main problem but if you climb in the back of the Blazer in the middle of the hatch you will see a little round plug if you pop this out use a flashlight to see inside on the right side there is a lever if you pull it toward you all the way you will hear it click then you can open your hatch and window.
You back into a pole. Then the hatch pops open
Consult your owners manual. Some vehicles do have a separate tank for rear window fluid (usually accessed through the frame of the vehicle with the rear hatch open) and some just pump fluid from the front reservoir to the back window as well.
I had the same problem. You blew a Interior light fuse! Its on the same circuit!I had doors open for a long time to clean interior, and next day, back hatch button would not open upper window!!! Richard Los Fresnos Tx
