As far as I know it's just plain old "clock watching." Sometimes there is a certain time frame that something traumatic happened and it's possible that the person may stop what they are doing and look at the clock at that exact time, but it's not a problem and a minor issue. My twin sons were born at 3 PM and 3:15 PM prematurely and they passed away within a day of each other. I can tell you exactly when 3 PM or 3:15 PM comes around each day. I have no idea why I know, I just know and I don't let it bother me.
The clock timer on your immersion heater is for you to program the heater to run at certain temperatures at certain times. You can contact your utility company and ask what the off peak or low demand hours are. Those times it is less costly to run your heater.
2 times if the clock is a 12-hour clock, once if it is a 24-hour clock.
The second hand on the clock circles 420 times in 7 hours.
