Yes, when igneous rock (magma) has solidified and then gets subsequently eroded, the eroded particules can get blown or washed into rivers for example, and then can form sedimentary rocks further down the chain.

Describe an alternate pathway within a rock cycle?

one starts at igneous rock and goes through metamorphism and becomes a metamorphic rock.another is a sedimentary rock goes through meltingand becomes magma

What is metabolic pathway in plants that consumes oxygen and produces carbon dioxide?

Through Crebs' cycle in aerobic respiration

How could a sedimentary rock provide evidence that a rock cycle exists?

The Rock cycle is a process whereby all types of rock are formed then eroded and "recycled" through different depositional processes. Sedimentary rocks can provide evidence that the rock cycle exists by looking at it under a microscope. Sedimentary rocks are formed by the lithification of grains of different sizes shapes and compositions. By detemining the compositions of the grains within a sedimentary rock through a petrographic microscope or through a scanning electron microscope (SEM) then it can be seen that some grains are composed of minerals that are solely igneous in origin. Likewise, sedimentary rocks can be metamorphosed to form meta-sediments.

What process forms sedimentary rock?

sedimentary rock is formed by the rock cycle

Which metabolic pathway is common to both cellular respiration and fermentation?

The glycolytic pathway is common to both fermentation and cellular respiration. During the course of the metabolic pathway, glucose is broken down to pyruvate. In the presence of oxygen, the pyruvate molecule becomes involved in the TCA cycle. In the absence of oxygen however, fermentation occures. The process is brought about by an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenase.

Why wont sedimentary rocks ever be the only type of rock?

Because a sedimentary rock goes through the rock cycle.

What is the process called when a sedimentary rock or an igneous rock becomes a metamorphic rock in the rock cycle?

Heat and pressure

Does the rock cycle have to start from the sedimentary rock?

No, the rock cycle does not have to start from the sedimentary rock

What is before metamorphic rock in the rock cycle?

Sedimentary Rock which becomes heated and pressed and Igneous Rock which is also heated and compressed.

What forces cause rocks to change from one type to another?

Magma subjected to cooling becomes igneous rock. Igneous rock then is subjected to weathering and erosion forming sediment which becomes compacted and cemented as sedimentary rock. Both sedimentary rock as well as Igneous rock when subjected ti heat and pressure become Metamorphic rock. This cycle goes on and on and is called the rock cycle.
