Why must a plug in a mortise cylinder lock be turned slightly before removing it from the cylinder?

You turn a mortise cylinder lock slightly before removing to release it from the lock housing. There is an obstruction in the lock design to keep the cylinder more secure in the lock. After you remove the holding screw from the lock body you can turn the cylinder slightly to release it and remove from the lock housing. Not all mortise cylinders are designed this way. Some of the cylinders unscrew from the lock housing after releasing the cylinder retaining screw.

How do you replace oil pan 98 blazer 4x4?

There is a fair amount of work to be done like removing the front differential before the pan can come down. I would recommend purchasing a shop manual for that vehicle if you intend on doing this yourself.

Where is the thermostat for a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire?

On the passenger side of the car, trace the hose from the bottom of the radiator upwards. This hose is tapped by another hose from the coolant surge tank. Follow the hose towards the engine block. The thermostat is located at the end of this hose. There are two small screws that hold the thermostat housing to the larger housing. Apply penetrating oil to these screws if they are tight. Remember to drain the radiator of coolant before removing the thermostat housing. There is no gasket between the thermostat housing and the larger housing. When remounting the housing, use the paste that is specifically manufactured for this purpose. It is sold at any auto supply store. Remember which direction the spring of the thermostat points before you remove it.

Where is the thermostat on a 92 continental?

Follow the top hose from the radiator to the engine. At the engine should be a housing held on by two bolts. Drain the coolant remove the hose then remove the housing. (Removing the hose makes the installation easier.) The thermostat is inside the housing. Make sure to clean all the old gasket off the two mating surfaces before replacing the new gasket. Good luck.

What will a retainer do?

A retainer is an orthodontic appliance that is designed to hold the teeth in a specific position. It can be a 'fixed' retainer, which means it is glued in place and is not removed, or it an be a removable retainer that can be removed to clean or eat. Retainers are necessary following orthodontic treatment because bone has a 'memory'; that is, it wants to return to its former position, and in doing so, it will undo all the work to straighten the teeth. By wearing the retainer (sometimes for several years) you make the bone 'forget' its former position, and eventually the teeth will remain in their new position without the retainer.

Can teeth braces stay for a lifetime?

they don't keep your teeth straight forever unless you wear your retainer after wards for a few years but if you even stop wearing your retainer for a few nights you will see your teeth starting to back to the way they were before. so orthodontists recommend wearing your retainer for at least 3 years after you get your braces out.
