you have to let it grow out & then cut it straight across with a nail cutter. next use a filer to make the edges more round & make the nail squarer.

Place the first course to overhangs the drip edges by about 1/4 inch and roll it out about 8 feet. At one end, drive nails every 3 inches along with the rake, then pull it taut and drive nails along the eave edge. Nails should be about 1 inch away from the edges.
