This may or may not help. My '96 has an interior trunk release lever
located on the floor between the driver's seat and the door sill. I don't know
how long Pontiac located the release there.
generally you should find it inside the glove compartment, on the left side. Try between the drivers seat, and the door, on the floor there is a lever that you pull up. i have a 98 sunfire GT, and i have looked EVERYWHERE....i've had it for 3 years, and there is NO button inside the car for the trunk. only the key or the button on the key fob. This is problably no help, but on my '96 there is a trunk opening lever between the driver's seat and the door sill, on the floor.
most GM cars have the button inside the glove box.
Look in the trunk
it "should" be to the right side and bellow steering wheel .if it is equipped with one.maybe check at trunk latch first to determine the car has this"option" In my 2001 Sunfire, it is on the left side bellow the steering wheel.
how to disable anithift system on 98 sunfire
Press the reset button located in the trunk. If I remember right it is a red button.
Look to the left side of the driver's seat on the floor. There should be a lever between the seat and the door sill.
There is a button located under the steering wheel on either the left or right side. If it is not there, then it did not come equipped with one.
Approximately 85 percent of the parts of the 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier and the 1998 Pontiac sun fire are interchangeable. Most of the parts that are not interchangeable are in the passenger compartment.
