Is there a way to get rid of the songs you downloaded off LimeWire so you won't get in trouble for having them or are you automatically at risk once you have them?

yes. Go where it is located on your computer, then get rid of it. Delete it. Then empty your recycle bin. Or trash. I dont think you can get into trouble for downloading things of Limewire. Since it is a p2p sharing system, limewire can get sued. Not u. But its YOUR instinct.

If you delete LimeWire are you safe from the law?
Well yes you are safe from the law, but your not exactly. Unless you remove all downloaded content from limewire then technically you are still breaking the law by having illegal copies of media. Also if you have imported and music or files from limewire into another program, I suggest you get rid of these files as a little box will appear from limewire saying that some files are corrupt, although they are not, because limewire is not there. If these files are not deleted then limewire will corrupt your whole system as I found out last year. I ended up having to re-format. The safest thign to do is remove limewire and all file downloaded by it, no matter what program they're in.
If you uninstalled LimeWire will you still get caught if you have music that you downloaded?
The people that get caught are the ones that have thousands of songs on their computers and they share them with the world. These people cause the record companies to lose money. They get caught by the record companies tracing the ip addresses of the culprits that are doing the sharing. That is all the proof they need. Having songs on your computer and having Limewire installed will not get you into trouble. If they have logs of your ip address participating in illegal sharing then you can get into trouble. So, no...you don't have to delete your music library. If you were going to get in trouble for illegally sharing music, they would already have all the proof they need.

dont do lime wire...its illegal ____ The software Limewire, isn't itself illegal. You will not get into trouble simply by having it in your computer. What may get you into trouble is the programs/music you download using it. You are free to download NON copyrighted material or anything in the public domain. You legally cannot download copyrighted material. And yes you can install Limewire if you are running Vista.
How can you preview av1 files on LimeWire when windows media will not open them?
I have the same problem until the file is completely downloaded. It gives a message about Windows Media Player not having the right Codecs. In Limewire, you might try going into "Tools" then "Options" then click on "Players" and check the box titled "Use Limewire Media Player", then "Apply".

Yes, you can download movies off of Limewire, but I wouldn't even recommend having Limewire at all because one of my coach's friends lost his WHOLE COMPUTER because of all the viruses on it. I've personally tried Limewire myself and HATED it. So, yeah, you can do alot of downloading on there, but it's not worth losing your whole computer.
