You can do it without wireless internet by having two DS consoles nearby and using their adhoc communication.
The Onion Knight job is unlocked using the Mognet wi-fi capabilities. It is not hard to unlock, but needs you to send messages between other FF3 users, opening up a quest which will give you access to the Onion Knight crystal shard.
The famicom version of FF3 might be available on ebay.
It's now available on the PSN.
Reviews for the game FF3 can be found on the following websites: IGN, PCmag, Metacritic and Eurogamer. Gamespot is also a good website for all game reviews.
Either getting a Phoenix down or by getting a white mage and learning raise.
It has nothing really to do with the actual crystals, it is just a crystal-like pendant.
You can use the pools in the houses in certain towns, you can use Phoenix Down, or the white magic spell Raise.

warrior of light and garland from ff1, firion and the emperor from ff2, onion knight and cloud of darkness from ff3, cecil and golbez from ff4, bartz and exdeath from ff5, terra and kefka from ff6. cloud and sephiroth from ff7, squall and ultimecia from ff 8, zidane and kuja from ff9, tidus and jecht form ff 10, and you get to meet two gods, one which is from Final Fantasy I (Chaos)To put it in a nutshell, You have one good guy and one bad guy from each final fantasy game.P.S. After you defeat Chaos, two new tales are added to the story. Beat both stories and you get the opportunity to unlock Shantotto (Final Fantasy XI) and Gabranth (Final Fantasy XII) in the PP catalog. You can also unlock Chaos but he can only be an opponent character. Bummer.
The main body of the Cloud of Darkness in the DS remake has 120,000 HP. I'm not too sure about the tentacles, but you don't have to beat those. It's just that if you beat them you'll get attacked less.
The 'Final Fantasy 2' released in the US for the SNES, was actually Final Fantasy 4. The original FF2 and FF3 were not released outside of Japan, which is why they chose to name it like that. However these days, the original FF2, FF3 and FF4 have been released on various formats, so are all now known by their correct names worldwide. So if you were to get Final Fantasy 2 for the PSP, this is the actual Final Fantasy 2, and not FF4.
