Is there a way to get your soldier who wants to quit out of basic?

No. The Army is really reticent to let a soldier out during basic training because everyone hates basic training--it's kind of a requirement. Tell him once he gets out of training, the Army gets a LOT better.

There needs to be a valid reason. Physical disability, medical condition, last Survivor clause, something to that effect. Or, they could go the route to get themselves an Other-Than-Honourable discharge, which will have negative repercussions for the rest of their life. Indicators of membership in a gang or other subversive organisation used to be a good way to get that done, but a lot of commanders have been less than keen to act on this, in times when they've found themselves hard pressed for personnel to fill the roster.

Answer:You don't. You serve your time like you stood up and said you would. You suck it up, and become a man or woman. You grow up and take responsibility for your actions.

That all being said, if you for some unforeseen reason are unable to complete your contract, speak with the training unit commander for options.
