Yes - click Start > Control Panel > Power Options. this will open a new window. Click the 'change plan settings' link next to the plan you're currently using. Under the plugged in section. Click the drop-down arrow for 'Put the computer to sleep' - and change it to either a longer time - or select 'Never'. You can also do that with the other settings too if you wish. Once you're happy - click 'save changes'.

To prevent the screen saver coming on - right-click a blank area of the display and select 'personalize' from the menu. Click the 'Screen saver' icon at the bottom - whis will open a new menu. Where it says 'Wait' and a number - use the down arrow to select a longer time (up to 10 hours). Click 'Apply' and click 'OK' when you're done.

In Windows, go to the control panel, click on power options. On the left click on "Change when the computer sleeps", then change all of the options to "never". Now your computer shouldn't sleep.

On Macs and Linux, you can download a software called Caffeine that prevents your computer from sleeping.
