Club Nintendo's coins (called stars outside of the Americas) are a reward points system. They can be redeemed for Club Nintendo-exclusive rewards.
Club Nintendo coins cannot be used to purchase software in the Nintendo DSi shop nor can it be used to purchase DSi points.
the coins at club nintendo are not the same as the eShop money, therefor you cant transfer because they are not the same thing.
They are but you have to have at least 600 club Nintendo coins to get a platinum prize. So, yes they are free but you have to buy games or a Nintendo dsi to get some coins.

To answer your question, you will need to buy a Colosseum which costs about 50,000 coins in dragonvale. Other than that I don't think there are any other contests to come yet.
yes coins can be exchanged! only in Europe :(
You're not suppose to. You buy games with Nintendo points. not those coins you earn on club Nintendo
End of every month.
