Not really as far as I know.
You can "Make Alias" (on a Mac) of the file and put it where you want it tho. It doesn't move the file it just makes a pointer of where it's at. (In Windows you "Create a Shortcut") "Right click" gives you the menu.

There are two ways to take a screen shot in Minecraft. One of them is to press the print screen button on your keyboard, then right click and click paste on a Picture document. The easier way is to press F2, then go to your .minecraft folder and click on screenshots to view it.

But other than that, the only way you can play Minecraft Alpha is to get the jar(most likely from the internet unless you have it saved somwhere) and replace it with your current one.
