there is no adapter. vortec heads were cut at a diffrent slope than standard sbc heads. you can swap the heads on the 78 350 for vortech heads or get a multipoint fuel injection intake for a 85 - 95 350. you can get the intake from summitracing.com
You will have to swap the heads and the intake
That engine has 2 of them and there underneith the intake manifold. You will have to remove the intake to get to them.
Type your answer here... I had the same problem with my 96 Tahoe.. Vortec 350. Problem was a blown intake gasket.
Because a true 350 vortec I think relies on the vortec intake in order for the pressure to stay correct. I just remember i had my vortec box off of my truck one time I started it and It died just put the old vortec air intake back on and it should be fine. sounds like you have vacumn leaks around the intake manifold, this can be checked with a can of carb spray,
A 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe has a 5.7L 350 TBI V8 for a engine, not a vortec.
Every vehicle has a different type of horsepower depending on the specifications of the vehicle. The 1999 Tahoe Z71 350 Vortec Engine has a horsepower of 255 at 4600 RPMs.
NO. the bellhousings are different on the 96 and 97 transmissions then all the rest of the transmissions in the 90s
The 4.9 vortec means that it is a 4.9 liter v8 probably.
what type of motor is currently in the tahoe? a 5.7?
