Is there an automatic shut off on the fuel pump for a Lincoln LS 2001 in case of an accident and how do you re-set it?

On a 2001 Lincoln LS :
The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is located in the drivers
footwell , behind the kick panel ( there is an access hole through the
panel )
- if you don't smell gas or see any gas leaking , push the reset button DOWN if it has popped up on the top of the switch
- turn your ignition key to the RUN position for a few seconds and then turn the key OFF
- make another check for the smell of gas or any gas leaking , if none , go ahead and start the engine
* the kick panel is the interior trim panel beside the drivers left foot
