If you imagine your arteries carry blood that contains oxygen, they get smaller and become arterioles, then so tiny they are called capillaries, this is where the blood that is in them releases the oxygen to the surrounding cells in the tissues. After that they get a little bigger and become veinuoles, then even bigger and become veins.
