Make sure that the rod moves the curtain clips that way. You want the stacking away from where the window opens if it is just a one-way rod, like for a sliding glass door.
Mark the places for the brackets using a pencil, a regular level or a laser level. Use a drill to place the anchors (if a large window) and screws for the brackets. If your home is masonry or brick, you may need to use a masonry drill bit, or one for metal to drill the hole. Attach the rod. Hang the curtain.
