I don't know for sure but that's not the type of thing that injections or medicine tend to cure. Chasing kittens is a behavioral thing in dogs so my guess is you would need to train him to behave differently, possibly you could try every time he sees the kitten and starts barking you could give him a dog treat, that way after awhile when he sees the cat instead of getting worked up and chasing the cat, he will be happy to see the cat because he knows when he sees the cat he also gets a treat. I'm not sure that will work though as it might just lead to him being a happy dog who chases a cat even on a full stomach. I would consult a trainer.
