In my experience, the laptops have slower drives in terms of read speed.

In other words, is it correct to say that if you are talking about an external hard drive with a USB connector. you can use it for either a desktop or laptop? Yes but no at the same time... Both of the Hard drives work exactly the same but the destop Drive(3.5") is larger than the Laptop hard drive.(Ranges between 1" and 2.5")

what is the difference between drive and machine

There is not a difference between a pin drive and a thumb drive.

Yes you would notice a difference. Also, if you can get a HD with a better cache, you would notice a difference as well.

The difference between a drive and disk is that a drive is used to read a disk whether it be a floppy disk or a compact disk.

There is no difference. Flash drive, pen drive, and thumb drive are all interchangeable terms.

There is difference between SATA and PATA HDD but no difference between the formatting..

put in a drive, then put the drive in laptop

A laptop is a real full featured computer. A net book is a stripped down version. not as powerful less hard drive space and usually no CD rom. Netbooks are a cheap solution for someone that does not need all the power of a laptop.

Asuming what you mean by drive is disk drive : Drive is where you put disk into...

The difference between a hard disk drive and a floppy disk drive are significant. A hard drive is generally significantly bigger than a floppy drive. A hard drive has many more moving parts.

Yes, you can replace a hard drive in an HP laptop. Hard drives for laptops are a standard 2.5 inch size drive. You can pick them up online between $50-$200 depending on the size and if its solid state drive or a mechanical drive

there are not difference that is same thing...........

Either you've got a weird/broken CD drive or your disc drive can't read that type of disc. Not all disc drives can read all types of disks.

a laptop hard drive is small...much smaller than a desktop hard drive.

The easiest way to transfer pictures from your desktop computer to a laptop is to buy a USB "Thumb Drive". A large size costs between $10 to $20 USD. Or for about $120 USD, you can buy an External Desktop Drive. Copy or Move the pictures to the Thumb Drive or External Drive. Close the drive properly (click on the drive icon in the tool tray). Next, insert the USB connection into the laptop. Copy or Move the images over to the laptop drive, usually under My Documents.

The only difference between Sata and ESata hard drives is that Sata is an internal hard drive and ESata is an external hard drive.
