First get emancipated, then you can collect support from both your parents, and also public assistance should help a ridiculous amount as well, food stamps, health insurance and so forth. But working the system is for chumps, get out there and work, give yourself financial assistance, it takes alot more pride, guts, and glory, and whole truckload less paper work too fill out and be denied for.

I did it, I've had a job to go too just about everyday since I was eleven, and was on my own from 15 on till now, and I'm alot better off than I would have been if I went for assistance, nothing replaces hard work and determination, and nothing will beat, or even match it either.

AnswerIf you petition the court for emancipation, and it is granted, then your parents are released from any financial obligation--therefore, they will not be required to pay any child support for/to you. In order to be emancipated you would have to prove to the court that you are capable of fully supporting yourself without any assistance--that means no welfare/food stamps/etc. Im sorry but the court is not going to emancipate a minor who will then have to depend on the taxpayers to support them.

If you simply leave home on your own (without emancipation) and are incapable of supporting yourself, then there is a very good chance that you would end up either being returned home or placed in the custody of the state.
