Is there any scientific proof of telepathy?

* No, but there are ongoing studies to say that it could be possible. There are instances in twins that show telepathic tendencies.

* I have read that it is, in fact, scientifically proven.

* There seem to have been many studies into this in the beginning of the 1900's, due to Freud's interest in the subject. Interest seems to have dwindled after the 1960's; there are few high-quality scientific journals that have published experimental data since approximately the late 1970's until this 2003 review article entitled "Information and Uncertainty in Remote Perception Research," by B.J. Dunne & R.G. Jahn -- which was published in the Journal of Scientific Exploration, 17, No. 2 (2003).

The article explains some of the problems in "proving" telepathy scientifically. There seem to have been many different findings depending upon the nature of the trial that is conducted; some of the inconsistencies remain unexplained.

In summary, although science has not proved telepathy, it has not yet done a good job of disproving it either! To disprove telepathy, the scientist would have to account for those trials with findings supporting the existence of telepathy.
